Follow some or all of these simple steps to improve your health. You can also plan ahead by purchasing a discounted spa gift card to use for a service, like colon hydrotherapy later. Until then, support your health with these simple steps.

Digestive Health at Home

Brew a cup of tea. Apple cider vinegar, chamomile, fennel seed, lemon, licorice root, peppermint, and ginger are among the most healing varieties.

Fuel up on probiotic foods. Kimchi, kefir, kombucha, tempeh, miso, sauerkraut and pickles are all good options.

Don’t forget the Prebiotics. Pre-biotics are the nutrition that fuel probiotics. Chicory root, dandelion leaves, bananas, leeks, garlic, onions, and asparagus will help the probiotics keep you thriving.

Take probiotic supplements. It’s challenging to eat a perfectly balanced diet. A probiotic supplement can help. You can find probiotic supplements in pills, gummies, and drink mixes, take your pick.

Fiber is filling and keeps everything moving. The amount of fiber you need depends on your gender and age. When increasing your fiber intake, only add about 5 grams every few days to give your body time to adjust.  You can find excellent sources of fiber naturally in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Artichokes, popcorn, oats, chia seeds, and almonds are among the highest in fiber; however, there are many more options. If you can’t seem to get enough fiber in your diet, supplements are also available.

Move your body.  I know you miss the gym, so do we, and yoga isn’t the same with your dog staring. Try an online class anyway, or do whatever exercises feel good at the moment. Even if you only make it through 18 minutes before your attention wanders, 18 minutes a day is over 2 hours a week, enough time to make an impact on your health. Walking counts too, so does dancing in your kitchen.

Hydrate. Water is the miracle elixir. It improves your skin, increases your metabolism, quells the mindless eating, and helps your digestive system. To determine how much water you should drink, divide your weight (pounds) by 2.2, multiply the answer by 40, or your age if you’re over 40. Divide that answer by 28.3, and you have the number of ounces to drink per day.  Don’t feel like doing math? That’s ok too, aim for a half-gallon of water a day.

Fill a pitcher with that amount and place it in the fridge or on the counter. Then as the day progresses, you can see your progress. Add fruit infusions, vitamin powders, or ice if it want, just keep drinking. You’ll be surprised by your improved wellness and feeling of accomplishment.

One good thing that can come from adversity is the increased ability to change. Take this upheaval and cultivate a couple more good habits. Then when you receive a wellness service like colon hydrotherapy, massage, or detox, you’ll have better results and be able to maintain those benefits longer. Take care and stay safe until we see you again—your team at Eco Chateau Wellness Spa.
